Entrepeneurs biscuit





I have been self employed for 13 years. This weekend at a training course, a wonderful Italian lady asked me- What is it you do.

I looked at her blankly! Then I smiled because a good friend told me about a similar situation. See, she had a problem and as she was busy talking, I was making notes. At the end of the conversation she was presented with a solution. She asked me again- what is it you do that you know so much. She said - you are an entrepreneur. I asked her- what is that :-)

No one really knows how to define a entrepreneur.  So I came up with my own explanation of entrepreneur.

Biscuits- yes, that right- biscuits.

People who are employed know what they receive in a paycheck every month. Self-employed or entrepreneurs can never be sure, but make projections.

So when employed people eat biscuits, they eat the beginning of the month biscuit, middle of the month biscuit or end of the month biscuits  for most of their life.
Entrepreneurs or self-employed people eat end of the month biscuits everyday of the month then hit it big time and eat beginning of the month biscuits for months or years. They then spend it all and go back to eating beginning of the month biscuits while working on their beginning of the month biscuit vision.

But most of all, we live, we move, we notice and we create solutions. Have great day- off to eat a biscuit vision :-)

The adversity of diversity

Adversity : A difficult or unpleasant situation (misfortune, trouble, difficulty, hardship, distress, disaster, heartbreak, misadventure etc.) Diversity : A range of different things (variety, miscellany, assortment, mixture, mix, range, medley,etc.) There was a time not so long ago when diversity was "the in thing". We travelled, met people, experienced new places, shared ideas, encouraged people to better situations, find solutions to their challenges etc. What the hell happened? Why is it that when I look at the news, newspaper, speak to people at social gatherings to find  time and time again that I get hit by the wall : diversity is all of a sudden the new adversity!
