The last time

The last time we saw each other we were planning what to do on New Years Eve. We looked forward to toasting 2017 with a bottle of bubbly.

Little did we know, that the last time was the last time.

Death has no warning. It is the thief in the night.

The adversity of diversity

Adversity : A difficult or unpleasant situation (misfortune, trouble, difficulty, hardship, distress, disaster, heartbreak, misadventure etc.) Diversity : A range of different things (variety, miscellany, assortment, mixture, mix, range, medley,etc.) There was a time not so long ago when diversity was "the in thing". We travelled, met people, experienced new places, shared ideas, encouraged people to better situations, find solutions to their challenges etc. What the hell happened? Why is it that when I look at the news, newspaper, speak to people at social gatherings to find  time and time again that I get hit by the wall : diversity is all of a sudden the new adversity! The best way I could express myself was simple: I travel often. A great number of times I am able to learn the  basics of the language of the country I travel to. I mean basic.
