The magic is in the moment

I woke this morning at 6am in Exopoli, Greece. Walk onto the balcony to the awakening of a new day. As I sat on listening to the sound of the crickets saying goodbye to the night and the street lights and stars disappeared one by one, I felt the peace surround me. It was quite and in the distance a cockerel announced,  that day break will soon arrive.
The temperature rose for no other reason that the smile of the sun on the horizon, bringing the song of cicadas    to fill the air with their summer songs.
The simplicity so profoundly beautiful!

The adversity of diversity

Adversity : A difficult or unpleasant situation (misfortune, trouble, difficulty, hardship, distress, disaster, heartbreak, misadventure etc.) Diversity : A range of different things (variety, miscellany, assortment, mixture, mix, range, medley,etc.) There was a time not so long ago when diversity was "the in thing". We travelled, met people, experienced new places, shared ideas, encouraged people to better situations, find solutions to their challenges etc. What the hell happened? Why is it that when I look at the news, newspaper, speak to people at social gatherings to find  time and time again that I get hit by the wall : diversity is all of a sudden the new adversity! The best way I could express myself was simple: I travel often. A great number of times I am able to learn the  basics of the language of the country I travel to. I mean basic.
