Funding VS fundraising
How would you describe the difference between funding and fund raising?
I have observed a few of both strategies in the past 7 years and found it to have very interesting to see which projects work best and continues past it's sell buy date.
Funding- the pot that gets chased to get something. Quite often no real research has been done in terms of the needs of the target group. How do I know this? Easy- I simply asked the target group about the satisfaction they experienced. I also observed the short duration of the commitment from the people following the pot of money.
Fund raising- the blood sweat and tears of a group of people sincerely perusing a goal for other than selfish gain. They expect little, give what they can in time of time, commitment. It touches the heart of both the givers and the receivers. Persistence plays a big part with these folks.
